Frequently Asked Questions

What sort of conditions can you treat?

The mixture of expertise at Back To Balance allows us to treat almost any condition which can be treated by conventional medicine. In addition, because we treat the whole being and our aim is to restore balance and harmony to the body as a whole, we can often help an individual feel 'really well' as opposed to just 'not unwell'.

Bellow is a list of conditions commonly treated:

  • Back Pain
  • Sciatica
  • Neck problems
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Joint problems
  • Repetitive strain injury
  • Tennis elbow
  • Sports injuries
  • Headache/Migraine
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Stress related disorders

What will a Tao Yin treatment at Back To Balance be like?

Treatments generally last around one hour and it is not advisable to eat a large meal before treatment. However, it is good to drink water to avoid dehydration as this can adversely affect some of the diagnostic tests. Comfortable non-restrictive clothing should be worn. Treatments are carried out on a massage couch in comfortable surroundings and you will be told what each stage of your treatment is for.

What will a counseling session consist of?

A session with a counsellor will last around an hour and will consist of a one to one dialogue focused on any issues the client wants to discuss.

We all have times in our lives when we could use a listening ear. Sometimes the chance to talk in confidence, in an environment that is supportive and non judgemental can be of true benefit. Being listened to accurately and sensitively by a skilled practitioner can often impart new insights and perspectives on life.

Counselling can offer vital support during times of transition, such as after a relationship break up or bereavement. It can also be incorporated into a programme of self development or healing.
